It was my original intent in The Exit Strategy:*
I have heard now from several perspectives that the Rolling Stones article on General McChrystal was his Exit Strategy. They are from the usual talking heads or other open sources in the know, i.e. opinions supposedly from experience. It was my original intent to imply that it was the General's intent to work his way out of the job, and in so doing serve a purpose that the job of getting out of Afghanistan is served. At least two of those perspectives are; the arrangement with the reporter was very unusual**, and it allowed Obama to take the command. Even these have a strange entanglement, which just happens to spin around watching ones words, which if very tricky in times of war, let alone diplomacy. Both of which the previous administration had little command, let alone achieving on top of stating ones purposes.
*even though the Ctrl F was about navigating this blog and watching ones words
